Missy selects for itchy skin

PictureMissy selected many herbal extracts throughout her zoopharmacognosy session!
This is Missy - a lovely gentle Cockapoodle that lives in the Burren and took the long trip up to Sligo to get some help with itchy skin - particularly her paws, vulva and ears. She engaged very quickly and was very clear in her selections and her MO was also very clear. She would come over to me, see what I had to offer, select and then go back over to Jayne to process until she was ready to check out another extract that I had for her. Early on in the session she selected Coconut oil and then proceeded to purge. Gut infections are often the cause of skin irritation and purging is a useful way of removing unwanted contents from the dogs stomach. We discussed removing cereal from Missy's diet which can often exacerbate gut infections and inflammation. Whilst she did select for inflammation (Peppermint & German Chamomile), interestingly enough she selected for Arnica C02(often selected for emotional and physical trauma) and initially orange blossom floral water followed by Neroli essential oil (often selected for grief). She processed for a long time (leaning on Jasmine ab as a support) on both and kept returning ever so often for a top up. During the follow-up offering Missy selected a topical application of green clay (often selected for fungal infections) on her vulva, anus and paw and itching ceased for a whole night which is unheard of! This is only the start of Missy's healing journey but I am delighted to say that Jayne has reported a significant reduction in itching and a lot done but more to do. The healing power of plants! If you would like to learn how to use Zoopharmacognosy to resolve numerous physical and emotional issues with your dog click on this Canine Workshop link
Please note that aromatherapy essential oils are not suitable for this type of work.

Hi! My name is Carly and I am a life long lover of Dogs and Horses. When my mare was having regular episodes of Colic I looked around for a solution and found Applied Zoopharmacognosy (also called the self-selection method and free choice botanicals). I was so impressed that I trained in this fascinating effective herbal approach and have gone on now to train others. That was over a decade ago  and I am now part of the Whitethorn Team and work with horses and dogs all over the world to help them restore emotional and physical health. As part of the support we offer, we also supply herbal remedies at our online shop along with providing workshops and one-to-one mentoring (Onsite & Online) on how to work with them.  We truly hope that you enjoy and maybe learn a little from our blog.
