Attendance of a Workshop will allow you subsequent access to the Members section only of Whitethorn Herbals website where you can avail of the information within the section 'Extracts selected for Conditions'.
The demo will commence with a 40min talk on Equine Applied Zoopharmacogosy in O'Shea's pub (Borris) followed by a light lunch (included in ticket)
We shall then travel the short distance (8min drive) to Kilreaney Stables where Carly Hillier will demonstrate working with two horses using the Applied Zoopharmacognosy approach of offering plant extracts to a horse according to emotional and physical presenting symptoms.
Please wear outdoor warm clothing as the talk and demo will be outside!

This Equine First Aid workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to act as a First Responder in the event of an Equine crisis such as choke, colic, broken limbs, injuries etc. Topics also include basics such as vital signs vs abnormal signs, wounds and bandaging. Whitethorn Equine Health embraces an integrated approach and as such the workshop will include references to Zoopharmacognosy for use during an Equine crisis event. This workshop is facilitated by Whitethorn Equine Health's Veterinary Surgeon Annett Siggins. Please see 'Terms & Conditions' Below

PLEASE NOTE Attendees must wear appropriate protective riding hat and footwear in order to participate in interactive elements with horses.
Adults under 18yrs of age must have parental written consent.

Whilst all care is taken with regard to Health & Safety when working with horses it is important to remember that horses can be unpredictable and whilst every precaution is taken in order to keep you safewe are unable to take responsibility for any injuries that may occur as a result of working with horses during the day.
Commence at 11am with introductions and teas and coffees, followed by a gentle walk with a view to identify and discuss the uses of 20+ herbs growing around Whitethorn Farm. A light lunch (included) will be served around 1.30pm. After lunch there will be a short talk on horse self-selection and the opportunity to watch a horse select herbs/plant extracts according to presenting symptoms.
The day will conclude around 5.30pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance!
Please bring appropriate wet gear in the event of rain/wind as well as comfortable sturdy waterproof footwear.
