Macerated oils are made from plants macerated (steeped) in a carrier oil for a period of time so that the plant constituents are diffused into the oil enabling the horse to easily assimilate the secondary compounds through the gut.
Fixed oils are oils that are made directly from the raw material itself - for example flax seeds.
