German Chamomile essential oil (Matricaria recutita)
Your animal may select German Chamomile when presenting with the following symptoms:
- Allergic reactions, hives (Urticaria) also to internal stitches

German Chamomile is an effective pain relieving oil when selected due to it's ability to inhibit Cox-2 - the enzyme which is partially responsible for the inflammatory and pain response. It is particularly useful in that unlike Wintergreen and Birch, German Chamomile inhibits only Cox-2 (as opposed to both Cox-1 and Cox-2) thus the stomach lining remains protected.
Its anti-histamine action is due to the chamazulene content (similar to Yarrow essential oil) which provides its characteristic inky-blue colour - which may stain clothing !
Cushings/PPID - research has shown that G Chamomile reduces ACTH levels in rats under laboratory conditions

Top Tip !
Apply topically undiluted on insect bites and where there is a histamine/inflammatory response. Mix with Aloe Vera for larger areas such as sweet itch.
