Liquorice Root powder (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
5:1 super concentrated
Horses and dogs may select Liquorice Root powder when presenting with the the following conditions:
- Eye problems - infected/inflamed
- Gastric ulceration
- Hormonal Imbalances - regulates seasons
- Inflammatory conditions - including allergies
- Liver toxicity - jaundice
- Respiratory conditions - RAO/COPD
Whitethorn Herbal's Liquorice Root pwdr is 5:1 super concentrated as preferred by equines and canines. Liquorice Root has been proven (see ref below to research) to have a soothing and protective action on the gut and respiratory membranes making it effective at easing inflammatory conditions such as ulcers and respiratory conditions. Liquorice root mimics cortisol - the hormone which is produced and distributed from the adrenal glands in response to inflammation. Thus it should also be considered for offering for allergic conditions.
It's high oestrogenic content means that it's great for balancing female hormones too (four-legged and two -legged!)

Top Tip!
When a horse licks the powder sublingually (using the underside of the tongue) the powder is directly entering the blood stream thus directly accessing the liver and avoiding the digestive system.
Canines may prefer the powder mixed with a little organic quality vegetable oil such as Rice bran oil
