PLEASE NOTE: Viscosity of this product is dependent upon the temperature at which the bottle is stored - therefore it is fitted with a dropper cap.  This means in high temperatures, it may be liquid thus enable exit through the dropper cap or in the event of low temperatures, you may need to remove the dropper cap.

Rose Otto is a popular oil and can be offered with caution at the beginning of a Zoopharmacognosy session. It instills a sense of peace and well being. However bare in mind that it is also considered an emotional-release oil so be aware that after inhalation/ingestion that a horse may have a release of anger.  In humans Rose Otto has been proven to reduce adrenaline by 30% (see citation below) and indeed it does reduce anxiety, stress and bring calm and ease to the horse when selected.
Rose Otto can also help release unhelpful memories although we recommend attending the two day Applied Zoopharmacognosy workshop before attempting this type of memory release with an animal in your care.

Rose Otto is not a cheap oil due to the not insignificant amount of roses  it takes to make one drop and if the oil is cheap then it's quality has to be questionable.
Research on effect of inhalation of Rose otto on humans:
Hongratanaworakit T. Relaxing effect of rose oil on humans. Nat Prod Commun. 2009 Feb;4(2):291-6. PMID: 19370942.

Top Tip!
Our Rose otto is of such a premium quality that, depending upon the temperature, can be solid. Ideally at the commencement of the session, put it in a jeans pocket to heat up checking the lid is firmly tightened.
Also it offers nurturing and often horses will look to mutually groom with you or a companion upon inhaling the oil. Therefore it is a good oil to offer when building friendships within a herd.

Also consider:
  • Plant extracts for Emotional issues
  • Plant extracts for Hormonal imbalances

Applied Zoopharmacognosy and offering plant extracts is not a substitute for veterinary care.
Consult your vet if you have any concerns for the welfare of an animal in your care
Always allow an animal to remove itself from an aroma and never put plant extracts in your animals feed
and always offer in a well-ventilated area
