Valerian is a sedative effective at relaxing and calming horses yet at the same time enabling them to remain focused. However, it is advisable to take a holistic approach to ascertain the exact cause of the stress and anxiety as whilst Valerian may help, it may well be that other factors in your horses environment need to be changed or adjusted.
