Green clay is invaluable in any equine/canine first aid kit. When used as a poultice it aids in the drawing out of toxins from infected wounds whilst protecting from flies. Green clay, when taken internally has an adsorption action that facilitates the expulsion of toxins in the gut - the toxins bind onto the external surface of the clay and are expelled with the clay. That is why it is imperative to purchase only the finest clay.
Dogs with fungal infections often select it and allow it to be dusted onto the effected areas.
It is also rich with minerals such as magnesium, calcium, potassium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, aluminium, silicon, copper, selenium, cobalt, and molybdenum.
Top Tip!
Sprinkle on dry for a seeping wound. Mix green clay with a selected essential oil (such as tea tree or seaweed extract) to create a powerful wound salve.
