This Cat Mat Herbal Kit contains 6 dried herbs that Cats often self-select to restore balance. Place a small handful of each herb on a clean towel or mat and your Cat will be able to access the aromatic compounds that these herbs release. All of the following are safe for your cat to eat:
- Valerian root (dried) - Cert Organic
- Catnip dried herb - Cert Organic
- Marigold dried Flowers - Cert Organic
- Chamomile dried Flowers - Cert Organic
- Rosebuds (dried) - Cert Organic
- Lavender flowers (dried) - Cert Organic
Please note that the Cat Mat Herbal Kit does not contain a mat to lay the herbs out on. A household clean towel will suffice for this purpose.
See below for more details on the herbs and how to work with them
How to Offer these Herbs to your Cat—Environmental Enrichment
When given the opportunity, either in the wild or in domestic settings, cats will choose to roll on herbs so that they may enjoy the aromatic chemicals released from the crushed leaves. These aromatic chemicals can have healing and soothing effects on Cats when selected. Place a clean cloth ( a clean dry tea towel is ideal) and place a small handful of each herb on the cloth leaving approximately 6” or 15cm between each herb. Allow your cat to enjoy rolling on the herbs or even eating them as they are perfectly safe to eat. Present the mat daily or weekly as your Cat dictates
* Lavender has a calming and healing effect
* Marigold is enjoyed for it’s anti-inflammatory ability
* Valerian is often a favourite and can be wonderfully calming
* Chamomile flowers aid with anxiety
* Catnip seems to bring joy and harmony
* Rosebuds can ease and open the heart
