Canine Applied Zoopharmacognosy Herbal consultation onsite, Sligo
Canine AZ Herbal Consultations are by appointment only. Upon booking, you will be forwarded a form to complete detailing your dog's details such as diet, medical history, current medication and presenting symptoms.
Whilst a session is likely to take 2hrs please allow further time to allow for a settling in period before work is started. This period of time is dependent upon your dog’s ease at settling in unfamiliar surroundings and the period of time that your dog needs in order to engage in the process.
During the session, your dog will be offered herbal extracts according to presenting symptoms. For example, if your dog has a hormonal imbalance, initial extracts such as Fennel essential oil and Agnus Castus powder would be offered (both known hormonal balancers). Your dogs responses are observed and noted, with subsequent relevant extracts offered, based on initial responses.
You (or your dog's main care giver) will be required to continue offering the selected extracts at home daily for a week or until your dog no longer shows interest in them. Therefore, please ensure that the person continuing the reoffering is also present during the session This is to keep the process active and to ensure optimum results. Support for follow-up offering at home is available from Carly (by phone) with a catch up phone call 7 days later.

Fees
The session fee includes extracts selected during the session and follow up support by phone during the follow up offering period.
However, the session fee does NOT include the extracts given for continued reoffering at home.
These are purchased separately from the session fee and is likely to be between €50 - €150. Quantity and selection of dried herbs and powders given for reoffering are case specific and are determined by Carly. The extracts we use for this approach are specifically sourced for this approach and essential oils such as used for Aromatherapy are unsuitable and in some cases dangerous.
Bringing your dog to our clinic is not recommended for dogs that do not travel
comfortably, that do not settle well in unfamiliar surroundings or for animals that
on welfare grounds should not travel. In any of those cases please consider a Consultation via a mutually accessible virtual platform such as Zoom or ask about our Home visits.

I brought my elder dog to see Carly for a zoopharmacognosy session in the hope of gaining extra support to help my dog navigate some chronic health issues.
Even though she is under the care of a Vet, the treatment wasn't fully addressing the issues. I had heard about Zoopharmacognosy and Carly and so booked a face to face session at Whitethorn Herbals in Sligo.
Carly was so warm, respectful and professional in her approach and it was a wonder to watch the process and to see how attuned Carly was to my dog's body language and what she was trying to communicate.
Carly has a depth of knowIedge and experience and I learnt so much from her during the session.
My dog, who is normally very anxious in strange places, was so comfortable with Carly and responded so well to her. Carly supported her to select from a choice of essential oils, powders and hydrolats.
After the session she was so calm and in lovely spirits.
Over the next week I continued to work with my dog in the way Carly had shown me. I found that the sessions really helped to support my dog both on an emotional and physical level and helped to support some acute physical symptoms.
All during that time Carly was on hand to answer any questions and was so patient and helpful.
At the end of the week I had a phone feedback session with Carly which was very helpful.
My dog and I continue to use the oils everyday. Along with being being so supportive for her, it's really enriched our relationship and she'll often come looking for them when she needs them. I feel much happier now knowing that she has this support and can clearly see the difference it's making.
