Comfrey macerate - Cert Organic (Symphytum officinale)
Horses and Dogs may select Comfrey macerate when presenting with the following conditions:
- Fractures
- Tendon, ligament & soft tissue injuries
- Inflammation - particularly of the stomach and lungs
Please consider offering Comfrey powder before the macerate if your horse or dog has any history of insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome or issues of the liver and pancreas.
The ability of Comfrey to heal fractures is reflected in it's ancient common name Knitbone. It's cell regeneration properties are due to it's allantoin content which means it is highly effective at helping fractures heal as well as aiding in the repair of ligament, tendon and soft tissue damage. Its regeneration properties means that it is also commonly used in the cosmetic industry in skin care lotions.

Horses generally prefer Comfrey as a dried herb so offer that first. Or you can offer it fresh from the hedgerow - although it may be necessary to allow it to wilt first if it is a little rough.
